2004 3.7 v6 quadcab, black w/matching cap. bone stock with drop-in high-flow filter. gettin about 11-12mpg city and maybe 14-15 if I burn a whole tank on a flat highway with the cruise on! Run Mobil1 high-mileage oil (175000 miles on her), autolite copper-core plugs, startron fuel enzyme, and the occasional smoke show (sea-foam). If anybody has any suggestions for improvement, let us know. Fuel ain't cheap these days! oh yeah, been running mostly 87 octane. Tried premium a few times. It felt like it ran better, but of course, didn't pay attenion to the mpg. Might have to revisit that one! |

im getting about 12mpg... im lifted with a 3" BL and have 285s on it... have a K&N drop in filter... i run the castrol syntec oil... and just replaced the plugs with NGKs abour 2-3k ago... i have had a jetchip stage 1 on my truck but took it off to calculate fuel mileage without and got the 12mpg as mentioned above... i just replaced the jetchip back on my truck to see what the diffrence in fuel mileage will be... a nice flowing exhaust system will help you out and a CAI will aswell... im thinking of porting my throttle body when i pick up a CAI... allow more air in and get more power and crisper throttle responce... im also wanting to take off my belt driven fan sence i already have a ele. fan stock ive heard of many people doing this with no problems... and im also thinking of droppin my T-stat from the 195* to a 180* to help the engine run a little cooler ive also heard this will help... but other than that i cant tell you what else we can do lol i dont think there is anything unless you want to drop your truck and run smaller tires lol... ive been contemplating a remote turbo... adding a little more air and fuel to the mix get more power that means less strain and runs easier giving you better fuel mileage lol if you can keep your foot out of it |
